Welcome to the Orbiter Scenario Editor Page !

Provisional page for Orbiter Scenario Editor beta

News

August, 2004
Orbiter Scenario Editor has been designed for Orbiter previous version. Because of Orbiter changes, it would be necessary to renew OSE to comply with Orbiter new scenario standards, which would involve to modify a big part of the code. In a second hand, there is a project to implement an on-line scenario tool within Orbiter next versions.
For these reasons, I have decided to stop Orbiter Scenario development.
I think the v1.09 can still be useful for newbies who can continue to get it.
I let an OSE v1.09e exe available for downloading for the people having problems to launch the v1.09h. For this, please see the downloading section at the bottom of the page.

Aladin Kinach has designed a scenario editor based on a new concept; it is limited to the DeltaGlider but is an interesting add-on showing how a future universal editor shall be.
You can find get information (and possibly download it) from http://www33.brinkster.com/aladinkinach/orbiter/

Release of the v1.09a installation setup

Important
The v1.07 and v1.08 version were designed for Orbiter Build 020419.
A new version v1.10 had been foreseen for docking to a ship, new features introduced with Orbiter Build 021202

A temporary v1.09 version , compatible with Orbiter Build 021202, is available at the download section. This v1.09 does not include all features for Orbiter Build 021202 and will be finalised in v1.10. The available v1.09 file corresponds to the moment development status and will bear the same name in proportion to its evolution

Some problems may occur under Windows XP due to a driver compatibility generating an Automation Error. This can be solved by replacing the driver mscal.ocx by an XP/9x mscal.ocx compatible version.

Orbiter Scenario Editor is a freeware add-on software for Orbiter.
Orbiter is a freeware space flight  simulator developped by Dr Martin Schweiger.

Orbiter Scenario Editor allows to modify or create easily his own customised Orbiter scenario file.

Its main features are :
                        Ø scenario file management
                        Ø focus and environment management
                        Ø orbital station management
                        Ø ship management

At the present step, Orbiter Scenario Editor works only with files complient with Orbiter file structure standards and does not manage the planets, planetary systems and planet bases, for these data are not managed through the scenario files but configuration files.

Orbiter Scenario Editor

Note : At its first launch, Orbiter Scenario Editor presents a dialog box to locate Orbiter. These information are saved in the simple (one line) text file OSE.CFG. If you have problem with this function, you can edit (or create) OSE.CFG for example with Windows Notepad and just type at the first line Orbiter location; for instance, if you have installed your Orbiter in c:\Orbiter, open OSE.CFG, just type at the first line c:\Orbiter and save it. Orbtier Scenario Editor should then start without problem.

Version 1.07

For the moment, the v1.07 beta install setup is not available (I only miss an english version).
The installation must thus be done manually, and requires the program file, the help file and the associated drivers whether necessary (if not already on your PC).
